Privacy Policy
Welcome to FutbolHub ("we", "our", or "us"). This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard your information when you use our mobile application (the "Service"). Our website is informational only — it does not use analytics or tracking cookies and does not collect personal data. Please read this policy carefully. If you do not agree with the terms of this Privacy Policy, please do not access the Service.
1. Information We Collect
We may collect information about you in several ways when you use the Service:
- Personal Data: Voluntarily provided information such as your name and email address when you create an account or contact us.
- Usage Data: Information automatically collected when you use the app, including your device type, operating system, IP address, screens viewed, and time spent in the app.
- Device Data: Information about your mobile device including device ID, model, manufacturer, and push notification token (for alerts).
- Location Data: With your permission, approximate location to surface regionally relevant content such as local league scores.
- Analytics and Telemetry Data: Automatically generated events describing how you interact with the app — such as when the app is first opened, when a session starts or ends, which screens you view and for how long, which features you tap, and when an advertisement is shown or clicked. See Section 5 for details.
- Diagnostic Data: Crash reports, error logs, and performance metrics (for example, app launch time and network response times) used to diagnose stability problems.
2. How We Use Your Information
We use the information we collect to:
- Operate, maintain, and improve the Service
- Send push notifications for matches and teams you follow (only if you opt in)
- Personalise your experience and surface relevant content
- Analyse usage trends and monitor the effectiveness of our features
- Measure app installs, retention, session length, and screen or feature engagement
- Measure advertising performance, including how often ads are displayed, viewed, and clicked
- Serve advertisements, including interest-based ads, through third-party advertising partners
- Detect, prevent, and address technical issues or abuse
- Respond to your inquiries and customer support requests
- Comply with applicable legal obligations
3. Sharing Your Information
We do not sell, trade, or rent your personal information to third parties. We may share your information with:
- Service Providers: Trusted third-party vendors who assist us in operating the Service (e.g., hosting, analytics, crash reporting, push notification services). They are contractually obligated to keep your data confidential.
- Analytics Providers: We use Google Analytics for Firebase to understand how the app is used. It receives pseudonymous identifiers together with device and event data, as described in Section 5.
- Legal Requirements: We may disclose your information if required by law or in response to valid requests by public authorities.
- Business Transfers: In the event of a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, your information may be transferred. We will notify you before your information is transferred and becomes subject to a different Privacy Policy.
- Advertising Partners: We may share device identifiers, usage data, and interest signals with trusted third-party advertising networks to serve relevant ads within the Service. These partners operate under their own privacy policies.
4. Advertising
FutbolHub displays advertisements to support the free availability of the Service. Ads may be served by third-party advertising networks, which may use cookies, device identifiers, and similar technologies to collect information about your use of the Service and other apps and websites in order to provide you with relevant advertisements.
- Interest-Based Advertising: Ad partners may combine information collected within FutbolHub with data from other sources to deliver ads tailored to your interests. This does not involve sharing your name or contact details.
- Ad Identifiers: On mobile devices, advertising identifiers (such as Apple's IDFA or Google's Advertising ID) may be used. You can reset or limit the use of these identifiers in your device settings:
- iOS: Settings → Privacy & Security → Tracking
- Android: Settings → Google → Ads → Delete advertising ID
- Opt-Out: You may opt out of interest-based advertising at any time by adjusting your device advertising settings. Note that opting out does not remove ads from the Service — you will still see ads, but they will be less personalised.
5. Analytics and Telemetry
To understand how FutbolHub is used and to improve it, we use Google Analytics for Firebase, a service provided by Google. The Firebase SDK automatically records events within the app and sends them to Google's servers on our behalf.
5.1 What We Measure
- App lifecycle: the first launch after installation, when a session starts and ends, and app updates or removals.
- Screen activity: which screens you open, in what order, and how long you stay on them.
- Feature usage: in-app actions such as following a team, opening a match detail page, searching, or changing settings.
- Advertising: when an advertisement is displayed, viewed, or clicked, and the associated placement and revenue data reported by our advertising partners.
- Stability and performance: crash reports, error logs, and performance metrics such as app launch and network response times.
5.2 Data Attached to These Events
Each event is accompanied by contextual information, which may include a pseudonymous app instance identifier generated for your installation, your device model and operating system version, app version, language, network type, approximate location (country and, in some cases, region) derived from your IP address, install source, and — where you have permitted its use — your advertising identifier.
We do not send your name, email address, password, or other directly identifying information to our analytics providers. The app instance identifier is not your name and is reset if you reinstall the app or clear its data.
5.3 Legal Basis
Analytics and telemetry collection is a necessary part of operating the app and is not optional. Where the GDPR applies, we process this data on the basis of our legitimate interest (Article 6(1)(f)) in understanding how the app is used, diagnosing faults, preventing abuse, and improving the Service. We have assessed that this processing is limited to pseudonymous data, is not used to build profiles about identifiable individuals, and does not override your rights and freedoms.
Advertising-related processing — in particular the use of your advertising identifier for personalised ads — is separate and is based on your consent, which you may give or withdraw at any time through your device settings.
5.4 Your Choices
Because analytics and telemetry are required for the app to be operated and maintained, they cannot be switched off within the app. You do, however, retain the following controls:
- iOS: Settings → Privacy & Security → Tracking, to deny app tracking permission. This prevents your advertising identifier from being used.
- Android: Settings → Google → Ads, to opt out of ad personalisation or delete your advertising ID.
- Objection: Where the GDPR applies, you may object to processing based on legitimate interest on grounds relating to your particular situation, by contacting us at the address in Section 12.
- Deletion: You may request deletion of the analytics data associated with your app installation by contacting us at the same address.
- Uninstalling: Removing the app stops all further collection. Reinstalling generates a new app instance identifier that is not linked to the previous one.
Withdrawing advertising consent does not remove ads — you will still see ads, but they will be less personalised — and does not affect core functionality such as live scores or notifications.
5.5 International Transfers
Analytics and telemetry data may be processed and stored on Google's servers outside your country of residence, including in the United States. Such transfers are covered by the European Commission's Standard Contractual Clauses and, where applicable, the EU–U.S. Data Privacy Framework.
For more information, see Firebase Privacy and Security and Google's Privacy Policy.
6. Data Retention
We retain your personal data only for as long as necessary to fulfil the purposes outlined in this Privacy Policy, unless a longer retention period is required or permitted by law. When data is no longer needed, we delete or anonymise it securely.
Event-level analytics and telemetry data is retained for a maximum of 14 months, after which it is automatically deleted. Crash and diagnostic reports are retained for up to 90 days. Aggregated statistics that can no longer be linked to an individual installation may be retained indefinitely.
7. Security
We implement industry-standard security measures including encryption in transit (TLS) and at rest to protect your information. However, no method of transmission over the Internet or electronic storage is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
8. Children's Privacy
The Service is not directed to children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personally identifiable information from children under 13. If you become aware that a child has provided us with personal data, please contact us immediately and we will take steps to delete that information.
9. Your Rights
Depending on your location, you may have the following rights regarding your personal data:
- Access: Request a copy of the data we hold about you.
- Correction: Request correction of inaccurate or incomplete data.
- Deletion: Request deletion of your personal data ("right to be forgotten").
- Portability: Receive your data in a structured, commonly used format.
- Objection: Object to processing of your personal data for certain purposes.
To exercise any of these rights, please contact us at the email address below.
10. Third-Party Links
The Service may contain links to third-party websites. We have no control over the content, privacy policies, or practices of those sites and assume no responsibility for them. We encourage you to review the privacy policies of any third-party sites you visit.
11. Changes to This Privacy Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any changes by updating the "Last updated" date at the top of this page and, where appropriate, via in-app notification. Your continued use of the Service after changes are posted constitutes your acceptance of the revised policy.
